Fiziksel açıklama
Carpet, wool knotted pile on wool foundation, Salor Turkoman, Turkmenistan, Central Asia. DESIGN: Field: red ground with 6 bands of 4 large guls and 5 and two half bands of 2 and half minor guls. The major guls are joined on upper and lower sides to form 3 columbs. The outer gul is quartered with orange at the top left and bottom right. The other two quarters alternate horizontally and vertically between white and dark blue. Each quarter contains 3 dark red trefoils. At the centre of each major gul is a multi-coloured 8-pointed star framed by a hooked, stepped cross. This star and cross form the minor gul and between them, vertically, are further stars, flowerheads and small sprigs. The flowerheads are sometimes in groups of four. In the 2 central rows there is a yellow diamond and two halves, framed between the major guls. Inner border: alternating diagonals, each containing part of a stepped lozenge. Outer border: interlocking diagonal S-motifs in all colours except brown, each having a tiny flowerhead at each end. Date catalogued 15.4.96
