Fiziksel açıklama
Description: Plain weave cotton embroidered with floss silk in straight stitches and with couched metal thread, padded and quilted, backed with woven silk and with an applied silk fringe., This has been cut from a larger cover or hanging, part of the side borders remains as does an embroidered silk and metal thread band down the sides and along the bottom. The entire ground is quilted in a diaper pattern finely worked with white thread. The piece is dominated by large-scale, branching fan-shaped flowers with serrated leaves. The stems and outlines are in couched metal thread. The motifs are in 3 off-set rows, the central row contains 2 motifs flanked by 2 smaller-scale buds in similar style. Yellow, green and pinks predominate. Backing: pieced; two different colours of woven silk with the larger bits combining yellow and red. Fringe: green silk. There is a plain weave inter-lining through which the embroidery has been worked and evidence of a layer of printed cotton beneath the backing. Metal Thread: silver strip close s-wound on white silk.
