Note Inscriptions: [1] very faint woven one repeated on the green ground. It may read 'Fakhreddine [the pride of religion]but may be illegible. [2] woven in the black circles. 'Ibn Enayat'. A previous reading was 'Son of Giyath'. [3] ink stamp on the back - tax or custom stamp? [4] inscribed on the back in ink 'ei iv'.

Description: Dress fabric of woven silk satin brocaded with metal thread. The selvedges are blue satin. There are two woven inscriptions, one within the black circles and a faint one on the green ground. Loom end at the bottom. The green ground is woven with a pattern of curving stems and long, this leaves forming an elegant lattice on which composite blossoms and small pomegranates are placed. Some of the blossoms contain a nasta'liq inscription in Persian: 'Ebne Ghiath' (son of Ghiath). Details are woven in red [faded], black and metal thread [silver strip open S-wound on s white silk core].
