Fiziksel açıklama
Fragment of plain woven undyed linen, possibly from a tunic sleeve-band, decorated with two horizontal tapestry woven bands in brown wool. The piece is heavily fragmented with large areas of the wool missing. The decoration on the tapestry woven bands consists of two series of animals (lions and hares) running left to right, with details picked out in flying thread brocading in undyed linen. Each band is bordered by a plain wool border. Above and below the tapestry woven areas are loops in linen weft. Ground weave (warp-faced tabby) Linen warp (S-spun, 34/cm) Linen weft (S-spun, 12-13/cm) Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun) Wool weft (Z-spun) Linen weft (S-spun, double) 12-13 ribs per cm
