Slit-tapestry woven medallion in purple dyed wool and undyed linen thread, depicting a circular border with a pattern of repeated semi-circular ornament containing a lion. Details have been picked out in flying thread brocading in undyed linen thread. Traces of the plain woven linen ground fabric into which this piece was sewn remain.
