Tile in the shape of a cross, fritware, decorated in the overglaze technique known as mina'i (from the Persian meaning 'enamelled'). The background is turquoise and the surface decoration is lightly moulded, and decorated in gold leaf with a vertical stem which branches into the right and left arms of the cross. Triangular-shaped leaves sprout from it, and at the centre of the tile is a flying bird (perhaps a duck). Made in Iran, probably Kashan, early 14th century. Ceramic; Middle East

Panel of four tiles of fritware covered with a clear glaze over a white slip and decorated in colours and gold. Two of the tiles are eight pointed star-shaped and two are four-pointed cross-shaped.
