(horizontal), chain lines spaced 25-26 mm. apart (vertical), and watermark of crown above grapes (raisin, see p.12, 18, etc.) ; sturdy, well-sized and burnished to glossy, beige in color., Binding: Thick boards covered in painted lacquerwork, spine in black leather (overlapping flanges) ; Type III binding (without flap) ; doublures in painted lacquerwork (swirling floral composition in bronze on a dark green to black ground) with doublure hinges in decorative paper (dark blue with vegetal design in white) ; upper and lower covers bear paintings of nearly identical floral composition in mirror image to one another on a dark red to black background, namely a central cluster of peonies, poppies, etc. with roses, poppies, buds, and other floral forms all in shades of pink and white with leaves in various shades of green ; sewn in light red thread, two stations, sewing loose ; worked chevron endbands in magenta and cream, damaged ; overall in somewhat poor condition with some abrasion, crazing, cracking and losses to lacquerwork, etc. ; housed in box for protection., Former shelfmark: "322 T. De M.
