"Beginnings" uses images and text, translated from Arabic, to tell the story. While details of the story are similar, the form differs: The story in the Quran is split among many verses; in the Bible it is recounted as a linear narrative"--Colophon, laid in., "A small accordion book in the pocket of the cover contains text references translated from the Quran to an English translation. References in brackets specify verses in "The message of the Quran" (translated by Muhammad Asad, Dar-al-Andalus Limited, 1984)"--Colophon, laid in., "For the originals used for this edition we each produced single paper collage images, to which the other responded visually. Original paper collages were scanned, reordered, and printed in folios on white Rising Stonehenge 245gsm using an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 printer. Folios were glued to produce a double-sided leporello accordion of 18 pages.
