Notes
The date of completion of the book's writing was confirmed from the Library of the Chief Writer, No. (194); It was stated in it: “The author, may God Almighty have mercy on him, said that his collection, Ahmad bin Ali, was completed... on the first day of Rajab Al-Farad in the year one hundred and eight forty-two, except for what he added to this booklet on the twelfth of Rajab of that year. He collected the introduction in the year thirteen and began explaining it in the beginning of the year seventeen, and praise be to God.”
Sample Text
Praise be to God who has enlightened the hearts of the people of Islam with guidance and poked the hearts of those who are tyrannical, so that they will never be aware of wisdom.... The time has come to begin what I intended for in explaining the authentic collection, as I promised at the beginning of the introduction... and I called it Fath al-Bari with Al-Bukhari’s explanation. I decided to begin the explanation with my chains of transmission to the original by hearing or by authorization, and to present them in an invented style... Al-Bukhari, may God have mercy on him and be pleased with him, said... How did the revelation to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, begin... ... A chapter like this in all versions without translation, and it includes two hadiths and a narration, and each of them is related to the translation before it, so the hadith between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise... Conclusion The mention of Medina included twenty-six hadiths, four of which are suspended and of which there are repeated ones, and nine that have passed, and the pure seventeen, and Muslim agreed with him in grading them, except for the hadith of Abu Hurairah in mentioning Banu Haritha and the hadith of Abu Bakra in mentioning the Antichrist, and it contains one narration, which is the narration of Omar, with which he concluded it, so he included it connected. It is suspended and contains a reference to a good ending, so we ask God Almighty to end it with goodness for us... followed by the book on fasting.
