During the sixteenth century, the Mediterranean was described as a “battlefield.” This battle was between two international powers: the Kingdom of Spain in the west, and the Ottoman Empire in the east. The sixth century witnessed evidence of the strength and expansion of the Ottoman Empire, as well as the rise of the power of Spain after its unification at the hands of Ferdinand and Isabella. The Mediterranean was a meeting point for the expansions of those international powers. In this historical period, the Mediterranean witnessed the strategy of expansion of the Ottoman Empire on its coasts, as well as the European desire represented by the Spanish and other powers to control the sea. average; This study will address the expansion of the Ottoman Empire on the coasts of the Mediterranean, and will also shed light on the Ottoman-Spanish conflict in this historical period, as well as the geographical location, which is the Mediterranean.
