The abridgement is arranged in thirty sections (فصل), and contains numerous diagrams. Begins (f. 1v, lines 3-7): الحمد لله الواحد الفرد القديم الصمد الذي آلائه غير محدودة ونعمائه غير محصورة ولا مفرودة والصلوة والسلام على محمد خير البرية وآله وأصحابه الجنية الزكية أما بعد فإن أحوج خلق الله غياث الدين جمشيد مسعود بن محمد الطيب الكاشاني الملقب بغياث أحسن الله أحواله يقول لما فرغت عن تحرير كتابي المسمى بمفتاح الحساب فانتخبت منه هذا المختصر فيما لا بد عنه للمبتدئين وسميته تلخيص المفتاح وجعلته مشتملًا على ثلثين فصلًا ...
