Notes Abridgement of the Miftāḥ al-ḥisāb (The Key of Account) by Ghiyāth al-Dīn Jamshīd ibn Masʿūd ibn Maḥmūd al-Kāshī (Ghiyāth al-Dīn Jamshid ibn Masoud ibn Mahmoud al-Kāshī, d. 1429 or 1436) or al-Kāshānī (Al-Kāshānī), composed by the author himself (see f. 1v, lines 5-7, transcribed below). The bridge is arranged in thirty sections (chapter), and contains numerous diagrams. Begins (f. 1v, lines 3-7): Praise be to God, the One, the One, the Eternal, the Eternal, whose benefits are unlimited and whose blessings are neither limited nor limited May blessings and peace be upon Muhammad, the best of creation, and his family and companions, the pure fairy. As for what follows, the most needy of God’s creation Ghiyath al-Din Jamshid Masoud bin Muhammad al-Tayyib al-Kashani, nicknamed Ghiyath, may God bless him, says when I finished About editing my book called The Key to Accounting, I chose from it this summary of what is essential for beginners and named it I summarized the key and made it include thirty chapters...
