Notlar	Author's self-commentary on al-Nasamah al-nafḥīyah , a versification by ʿAlī ibn Ghānim al-Maqdisī (علي بن غانم المقدسي, d. 1596) of the Fatḥīyah Treatise on the Use of the Sine Quadrant (الرسالة الفتحية في العمل بالربع المجيب) in twenty chapters (باب) by Badr al-Dīn Abū ‘Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Shāfi‘ī al-Miṣrī al-Dimashqī (بدر الدين أبو عبد الله محمد بن محمد بن أحمد الشافعي المصري الدمشقي, b. 1423, d. 1490), known as Sibṭ al-Māridīnī (سبط المارديني), timekeeper (موقّت) of the al-Azhar Mosque at Cairo. A copy of al-Nasmah al-nafḥīyah (النسمة النفحية) precedes the present text (ff. 52r-57r). The colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. to the present copy states that it was transcribed from a copy made from a copy in the hand of Ibrāhīm al-Laqānī (إبراهيم اللقاني, d. 1631), an Egyptian Mālikī scholar and theologian (see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 73, lines 10-11, transcribed below). Begins (f. 57v, lines 2-4): الحمد لله الهاد إلى صوب الصواب والصلاة والسلام على سيدنا محمد والآل والأصحاب وبعد فهذا توضيح لنظم الرسالة الفتحية والأعمال المجيبية طلبه مني جمع من الإخوان في ذلك ولدي عبد الرحمن وقفه الله تعالى لصالح العمل وبلغه من الخيرات غاية الأمل Ends (f. 73r, lines 9-10): وحين انتهى النسخ بهذا الشرح المبارك بحمد الله تعالى وحسن عونه وصلى الله على سيدنا ومولانا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم تسليمًا...
