Notlar	A commentary by Aḥmad ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq al-Sanbāṭī (أحمد بن أحمد بن عبد الحق السنباطي, fl. 16th century) on the Treatise on the Use of the Sine Quadrant (الرسالة في العمل بالربع المجيب) in twenty chapters (باب) by Badr al-Dīn Abū ‘Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Shāfi‘ī al-Miṣrī al-Dimashqī (بدر الدين أبو عبد الله محمد بن محمد بن أحمد الشافعي المصري الدمشقي, b. 1423, d. 1490), known as Sibṭ al-Māridīnī (سبط المارديني), timekeeper (موقّت) of the al-Azhar Mosque at Cairo. The commentary is written out in black ink, and the text commented upon in red. Another copy of this text is found on ff. 123v-138v of the present volume. Begins (f. 4v, lines 2-4): وبعد فيقول العبد الفقير إلى الله تعالى أحمد بن أحمد بن عبد الحق السنباطي الشافعي هذا توضيح لطيف على الرسالة الموضوعة في العمل بالربع المجيب تأليف الشيخ العلامة بدر الدين المارديني رحمه الله تعالى وضعته عليها حين قرأتي لها على شيخنا العلامة المفتي السيد الشريف محمد بن أبي الخير الأرموني المالكي أطال الله بقأه ... Ends (f. 17r, lines 19-23): ...فاذا اقلت منكابًا صحيحًا عند توسط ذلك الكوكب ومضى من درجاته قرر ذلك فهو أول طلوع الفجر والله سبحانه وتعالى أعلم لا رب غيره ولا معبود سواه ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم وصلى الله علي سيدنا ومولانا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم تسليمًا والحمد لله رب العالمين انتهى بحمد الله وحسن عونه
