Maḥmūd Ṣidqī al-Nassākh. Purchased in Cairo, 1933/34. Owners' marks: inside cover, manuscript notes in handwriting of Max Meyerhof; inside cover, note in handwriting of Louis Charles Karpinski (?), "From Dr. Meyerhof in May, 1934.". Believed to have been lost, this work contains "an explanation of the system of the anwāʼ ['the acronychal setting of a star or constellation and the heliacal rising of its opposite (raqīb)'], a list of the mansions,... etc.; the explanation is accompanied by maxims and poetry."
