Ms. 512 Origin: As appears in colophon on p. 276, Fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam copied by Aḥmad ibn Abī al-Khayr known as al-Khawlī with transcription completed 23 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1017 [ca. 30 March 1609]. As appears in colophon on p.294, final work executed by the same copyist with transcription completed in the latter part of the year 1017 [1609]. Opening work likely copied around the same time. Accompanying materials: Acquisitions slip from Yahuda. Former shelfmark: From inner front cover and spine label, "IL 13" (likely supplied by Yahuda, see acquisitions slip). Binding: Pasteboards covered in green-blue cloth ; Type II binding (with flap) ; pastedowns and flyleaves in a white and blue wove paper ; resewn in white thread, eight stations ; overall in good condition ; attached to the textblock in an inverted manner, with flap on effective upper cover rather than lower cover. Support: European laid paper with 8 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 29 mm. apart (horizontal), and anchor in circle with trefoil above watermark (see p.50, 56, etc.) ; well-burnished to glossy, dark cream in color ; repairs at opening in wove paper ; some ink burn (see pp.201-206, etc.) ; staining and tide lines.
