This copy by Aḥmad ibn ʻAbdī with transcription finished "tamma al-taswīd..." in the year 1048 [1638 or 9] likely in Istanbul. Former shelfmark: British Museum, London "No. 80. Binding: Pasteboards (delaminating, composed of recycled paper with writing in black ink still visible) covered in marbled paper with spine and turn-ins in leather ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in laid paper ; interior of fore-edge flap in rose-tinted paper ; sewn in brown thread, two stations ; thread snapped in places, loose in others, elsewhere entirely missing ; fragments of primaries for endbands remain, bright blue and yellow, but neither band intact ; cover ill-fitting with leather shrinkage and expansion and cockling of text-block ; leather is cracking across fore-edge and spine, abraded at corners, red rot ; text block intact except for occasional loose leaves.
