Binding: Pasteboards covered in light pink-tinted laid paper with black leather over spine ; Type III binding (without flap) ; board linings in untinted laid paper ; sewn in pink thread, two stations ; overall in poor condition with significant abrasion, lifting and losses of paper and spine leather, delamination of boards, staining, etc. Support: European laid paper mainly with 11 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 26 mm. apart (horizontal), three hats watermark (see p.10, 146, etc.) and "P Z" under trefoil countermark (see p.18, etc.), thin and transluscent though sturdy ; a few bifolia in another type with 7 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 28 mm. apart (horizontal), and three crescents watermark (77 mm. long, perpendicular to chains, see p.142, etc.)., sturdy and thick ; all quite well burnished. Decoration: Keywords and section headings rubricated ; textual dividers in the form of hāʼ in red ; overlining in red. Script: Naskh ; clear Turkish or 'Syrian' hand ; partially but irregularly seriffed with right-sloping head-serif mainly on free-standing alif, effect of tilt to the left, occasional effect of words descending to baseline, curvilinear descenders, some free assimilation of letters, pointing in conjoined dots or strokes, point of final nūn set above or just inside narrow bowl. Layout: Written in 17 lines per page ; frame-ruled. Collation: 6 V(60), VI (72) ; almost exclusively quinions ; catchwords present ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes inserts). Colophon: "Scribal," triangular, reads "تمت في شهر ربيع الاخر اثنى وعشرون مائة الف سنه ۱۱۲۲" Explicit: "ابو الليث وغيره قال جامع الحروف في هذه الظروف جمعت هذا الكتاب بعون الملك الوهاب لنيل الاجر والثواب وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد واله اجمعين امين يا رب العالمين" Incipit: "الحمد لله الذي علمنا الشرائع والاحكام وخلصنا بنور العلم من ظلم الشبهة والاوهام ... وبعد فاني اردت ان ابين الفرائض والواجبات والسنن والمستحبات لينتفع المؤمنون والمؤمنات ويصلون بها في الجنة الى اعالي الدرجات وسميته راحة الصالحين وصواعق المنافقين ..." Former owners' marks on 'title page' (p.7) include ownership statement dated 1201 [1786 or 7] in name of Osman, müftü in Diyarbakır (آمد) and son of Ebubekir Efendi, Kuçuk Ahmetzade (d.1776, see Osmanlı müellifleri vol.2, p.311) accompanied by his oval seal impression (statement reads "من كتب الفقير اليه عز شأنه عثمان المفتى بمدينه آمد ابن ابو بكر افندى كجوك احمد زاده عفي عنهم") and another statement reading "عثمان افندى" ; occasional marginal and interlinear corrections.
