Fiziksel açıklama Bag face: described as woven. NB some repiling at lower centre and far right and left. WARP: cream wool, some plying of cream and brown; Z2S; depressed; 29 threads per inch (116 per dm). WEFT: light brown wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 parallel threads to each shoot and 2 shoots after each row of knots; 19 knots per inch (81 to the dm). PILE: wool and silk; 10 colours: dark red, red, orange, dark green, dark blue, blue, light blue (silk), pink (silk), dark brown, cream; an asymmetrical knot open to the left and tied around 2 threads; 276 knots per sq. inchh (4698 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: both sides have one cord oversewn in dark blue wool. END FINISH: Lower: 2.5 cms. plain weave with red and then with cream weft turned and stitched into place. Front 1 cm. covered by dark blue woollen braid, with pink silk Z-plied fine cord attached to braid and lying between the braid and the lowest row of knots. Upper 2.5 cm. of plain weave with cream weft, turned and stitched into place after a single line of jufti knots in dark blue. Over these knots is stitched a blue fringe of four threads knotted loosely over a double cord of dark brown wool. To the right of the fringe is one, tightly plaited. The maximum fringe length is 11.5 cms.). DESIGN: Field: this has a cream ground, with two bands of 10 serrated leaves in pink, dark blue, red, dark green and with an angular contrasting curl in the centre. The upper and lower pairs of leaves are joined by their stems which frame a central band of stepped hexagons, each containing a rosette. Tiny, five-pronged comb motifs are scattered over the field. Borders: the main border has a red ground with a linked band of small guls quartered in cream and dark blue and containing quartered diamonds, some in pink and blue silk. The border's guard stripes are pink silk. The inner and outer borders have a brown ground with white diamond flowerheads with pink silk centres alternating with Xs in various colours. All the above borders are surrounded by a solid red border. The lowest border has reciprocal band of dark blue/red horned motifs. The uppermost border is a chequered band with a red/dark red ground and white diamonds with pink silk frames and centres. This border has a white, zigzag guard stripe. Date catalogued: 21.2.95
