یادداشت‌ها The decoration on this bowl is particularly interesting. The large white palmettes and split-leaf motifs growing from the arabesque relate it to a small group of experimental Iznik wares. Dating from the 1550s, they show how Iznik potters tried new combinations of colours and motifs. The Ottoman court renewed its patronage of ceramics made in Iznik, north-west Anatolia, during the construction of the Süleymaniye mosque in Istanbul in 1550 to 1557. The first Iznik tiles were produced, and potters added a bright red to the range of colours painted under the glaze. This was achieved with a slip made from a special clay.
Malzemeler ve teknikler Fritware, underglaze polychrome painted in green and blue, glazed Fritware Underglazing
Fiziksel açıklama Blue bowl with inverted rim, decorated with white and blue flowers on arabesque stems.
Üslup Iznik Ottoman
