Tent band, wool pile WARP: white wool: Z2S; 50 threads per inch (200 per dm). WEFT: white wool; Z2S; 1 shoot after each row of knots; 24 knots per inch (100 per dm). PILE: wool and silk; 8 colours: dark red, red, yellow, dark green, dark blue, blue, purple (silk), white; symmetrical knot tied around 3 threads with one thread left between each knot; knotting is off-set; 300 knots per sq. inch 95000 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: returned weft, oversewn with red silk. END FINISH: Upper: before the twining, there is a woven band of double lozenges in pink silk. Both ends: a band of 4 passes red/blue twining extends into a plait on either side (max 35 cms.) There is a plaited warp fringe with some tassels which measures 95 cms. at the top and 84 cms at the bottom, with eleven plaits at the bottom and eight at the top. DESIGN: oblong compartments enclosing hooked geometric and floral motifs, symmetrical along a central axis. Different motifs appear near the ends. The extreme end panels are diapered with small conventional trees. Borders: there are four narrow borders down the greater part of the sides: two contain a zigzag and two contain small diamonds.
