Malzemeler ve teknikler Wool
Fiziksel açıklama WARP: one thick light brown and 2 thinner dark brown wool threads; Z3S: 14 threads to the inch (60 per dm). WEFT: Foundation: white wool; Z2S, 1 shoot after patterned weft; 20 threads to the inch (80 per dm). Pattern: wool; Z2S; 9 colours: dark red, red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue, blue, black, cream; Sequence: over two warp threads and back under one. SIDE FINISH: returned weft END FINISH: Lower: cut. Upper 1 cm. plain weave with red wool weft turned over and stitched down. DESIGN: there are 13 bands of geometric design, symmetrical along the horizontal axis. The deep central band number 7 has one band and two half bands of infilled, cross-like motifs on cream ground. Counting from the bottom, bands 2, 5, 9, and 13 are exactly the same. Bands 3 and 11 have the same design byt their colours of red, blue and cream are reversed. Catalogue Date. 20.3.m91
Üretim Mentioned and illustrated in "Caucasian Rugs in the V & A", by M. Franses and R. Pinner (intro. by Donald King). Hali 1980, Vol. 3, No. 2, p. 96,111, 114 The Anglo-Persian Carpet Co., S Kensington. "Soumak - woven mat" purchased for £1/2/-. This and two others "are pieces of Soumak weaving from saddle-bags; apparently the work of nomad Turcomans. They are good in colour and design and there is nothing similar in the collection. The prices asked are very moderate. The large piece (this one) would be a useful acquisition for the department. CECT to AFK.
