یادداشت‌ها	Only a small number of these blue-coloured dishes are known to have survived. The size of this dish and its fine incised decoration would suggest that it was intended for display. The blue colour comes from the addition of cobalt oxide to a covering which resembles a silaceous glaze.

Tarihsel bağlam	Arthur Lane in Later Islamic pottery describes blue Kirman wares as: 'The colouring matter was applied in the form of a thick slip and covered by the typical loosely fitting transparent Kirman glaze.' He goes on to describe blue slip ground Kirman wares that have decoration painted on in white slip and also those with 'simple arabesque and floral designs cut through the blue slip to show the white body beneath'.
