یادداشت‌ها Middle East, Textile, Carpet; Carpet, wool pile on wool foundation, central axis design of hooked diamonds on dark blue ground, Azerbaijan, possibly 1800-1880
Malzemeler ve teknikler WARP: light brown wool; Z3S: 15 threads per inch (58 per dm). WEFT: light brown wool; Z2S; 2, sometimes 3 shoots after each row of knots; 8 knots per inch )28-31 per dm). PILE: wool; 11 colours: red, orange, yellow, green dark blue, blue, very light blue, pink, dark brown, light brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around two threads; 60 knots per sq. inch (varies 812- 899 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: 3 cords overcast with orange wool. END FINISH: Lower: 2.5 cms. plainweave with orange weft; immediately below the pile are 3 rows of countered soumak also in orange wool. A fringe composed of two types of threads: the majority are twisted warp loops 4 cms. long. There is evidence that threads have been inserted into the loops to extend the fringe. At intervals there are groups of 4 longer loop threads 17 cms. long and these have been knotted. Upper: 2 passes of countered soumak in orange wool; the 1.5 cm. of loose plainweave with orange weft; the warp threads have been twisted into groups of three and then two or more have been knotted together with one knot the max. length being 13 cms. Dark brown pile is shorter than other colours, down to base of knots in places, probably due to acidity of mordent. Turquoise dye has faded to off white, indicating chemical dye. Wool Knotted Pile
Fiziksel açıklama Wool knotted pile on wool foundation, symmetrical knot. DESIGN: Field: dark blue ground with a central row of 7 linked octagons outlined by a line of red and white blocks each containing a hooked diamond on variously coloured grounds; within are either floral or geometric patterns. One either side of the central row are two half rows of hooked diamonds with geometric filling, the diamonds separated by tiny cloudbands and circles. Main border: white ground with leaf and wineglass pattern in various colours. Inner border: reciprocal diamond heads in red and green
