Fiziksel açıklama bag face WARP: cream wool; Z2S; 24 threads per inch (99 per dm). WEFT: dark brown wool; cannot ascertain spin and twist; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 25 knots per inch (100 per dm). PILE: wool; 8 colours: dark red, red, green, blue, light blue, dark brown, brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 300 knots per sq. inch (4950 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: 2 cords overcast with red wool. On the right there are traces of brown wool which may have been used to sew both sides together. END FINISH: Lower: 2.5 cm. plain weave with cream weft and bands of green and red turned around 4 threads to form a fringe. DESIGN: field: three bands of four rectangles with a gul in the centre of each, separated by narrow borders of flowerheads. Borders: there are six, from the inside: (1) and (3) are on either side of the main border and have white rectangular flowerheads alternating with coloured block. (2) the main border has a red ground with alternating green and dark blue hooked motifs. (4) same pattern as the divisions in the field. (5) blue ground with dark red and red arches outlined with white. (6) red ground; at the top and bottom there are heart shapes in green and above them a line of blue triangles infilled with dark red. At the sides this pattern is elongated. Note: the top border of (6) is not inverted. Catalogue date: 5.7.94
