In Hājji Khalīfah, volume VI, page 336, ʻAlāʼi is given as the author's name. In this copy, with no author's name provided, the author states that he entitled his book ʻAlāʼi in honor of ʻAlāʼ-al-Dawlah of Ṭabaristān. The Nuzhat-nāmah is mentioned in the Faraḥ-nāmah of al-Jamāli and ascribed to Shahr-mardān al-Mustawfi (cf. Br. Mus. P., page 465 and Browne, page 288). Some pages are damaged and remargined in some places. The work deals with natural history describing animals, birds and insects, accompanied by numerous paintings and illustrations. Text ends with faṣl 7 of bāb 3 of maqālah 4. First page includes a seal impression of Amān Allāh or his father Mahābatkhān (f.1a). Includes numerous colorful paintings of birds, plants and mammals. Oriental paper; clear Naskh script ; rubrications; 27 lines per page. An explanatory note on the composition of the book for Kākūyid ruler 'Aḍud al-Dīn 'Alā al-Dawlah [Abū Kālījār Garshāsp] (d.1141), followed by 2 pages detailed table of contents . Includes 6 maqālahs. Title from page 4, date of copy from the last page. Manuscript.
