Notes It is known to everyone how much importance Atatürk gave to national history studies and how he encouraged and protected such studies. Ataturk, with his great genius, knew very well what a great heedlessness it was for a nation to see national history through the eyes of foreigners, or rather, to understand it as they showed it. For this reason, he gave great importance to the development of historical studies in the country in order to bring his nation, which he had achieved material and political independence, to moral and spiritual independence, and he established the Turkish Historical Society for this purpose.
Parçası Olduğu Belleten (Türk Tarih Kurumu), 1939-04, Vol.3 (10), p.277-280
