Notes The issues raised in social sciences are mainly attributed to Western sociologists. In the meantime, orientalists have also tried to introduce him as a pioneer in sociology based on Ibn Khaldun's opinions; Because his structural and macro view of social phenomena, giving originality to the collective and relying on experience and narration, his sociology is close to the classics. But based on the Islamic point of view and relying on Mulla Sadra's methodology, Farabi's opinions can also be examined and reflected upon as a sociologist. In the study of social phenomena, he uses sense and experience along with theoretical and practical reason, and in addition to giving authenticity to the individual, he does not ignore the influence of human beings on social phenomena. Based on this, this article compares the sociological elements of Ibn Khaldoun and Farabi's theories. Also, the topics of realism, typology, discussion of causation, subject and object, the pattern of progress of societies and Islamic thoughts will be discussed in his works, and finally, Farabi will be introduced as the founder of Islamic sociology.
