Clémenceau, said that after the first shot had been fired, the Premier exclaimed:'He has missed me," but he knew other shots might be fired, and it was Indeed a later shot which struck him. Several bullets lodged in the Premier's overcoat. The scene o£ the outrage was only fifty yards from M. Clémenceau's ! whither he walked. |
