Notes The root of social deviations has long been the center of scholars’ attention. Many theories on the role and impact of living, psychological, and social conditions of people have been proposed. Based on Islamic thought, Shahid Motahari, while not ignoring the aforementioned factors, considers the human being as a knowledgeable and responsible being toward one’s actions, who enjoys continence. He stresses on propagation of deviated thoughts and dissension as the platform of deviated behaviors in today’s world. His view is similar to the classic view and the theory of wise selection of deviated behavior.
