Sample Text The young historians of Turkey have a double legacy to reverently heed ATATÜRK's: to regard the history of Anatolia, from the most ancient times, as their own and to demand liveliness from all historical research. The high esteem that Atatürk paid to historical science is based on the conviction that it is not an object of archives and museum showcases, learned controversies and academic treatises, but that it can rather offer us direct knowledge of the driving forces of events, insight into the basic conditions of human coexistence, so that its individual facts can be integrated into a synthetic world view that is itself, history, is removed
