On the orders and instructions of Ataturk, its Founder and Protector, the Turkish History Society carried out archaeological excavations in Alacahöyük during the summer of 1935 and thus opened the Sene of excavations intended to subject to systematic research, conducted according to a determined plan, Anatolia which conceals the old treasures of our national Culture.. To give you a brief idea of the first results as well as on the finds of skeletons in Alacahöyük, led by my colleagues Hamid Zubeyr Kasay and archaeologist Remzi Oğuz Arık, the best would be to reproduce here some passages from a conference given on behalf of the Turkish Historical Society by Bayan Afet, vice president of our Society, in Geneva and Ankara (1936) on this subject.
