Genghis's grandson and fourth cousin, Mengü (Mönkke) Kaam's brother Hulâgü (Kulagu), whom he assigned to eliminate the Abbasid Caliphs in Baghdad and the Esoterics living in Alamut Castle in Iran in 1252, established the Ilkhanid sultanate in Iran after successfully completing these tasks. This sultanate was founded in a period dating back to the Medes and Achaemenids. Firdevs's colorful pen had eternalized the history of this country and its former sultans within the framework of Pishdadyan, Kiyanyan, Eshkanian and Sasanian layers. Therefore, the material assets of the Mogul rulers were pale in comparison to the vivid and glorious memories of these ancient rulers.
