Notes
A useful conference given by the French archaeologist M. Andr Godard, who has been the director of the Iranian archeology department in recent years, about the monuments of the city of Marâga, at the "Society of Persian Art and Iranian Studies" in Paris on March 10, 1934, is the ninth of the series of small treatises published by this society, under the name Les Monuments de Marâgha (Paris, 1934). This twenty-two-page treatise, which included eleven pictures and a plan added to the text, gave a very detailed idea about the Marâga monuments, which had not been well studied in terms of art history until then, and determined the time in which they were built. In this way, the deficiencies and errors in the works of De Morgan and F. Sarre, which were famous for those dealing with the history of Iranian art, were corrected.
