Notes Review article and introduction: The emergence of Enterobacteriaceae producing carbapenemase and broad-spectrum beta-lactamase is a threat to global health. Fast and correct diagnosis of these strains plays a key role in controlling hospital infections and correct treatment. In this study, the detection methods of carbapenemase and broad-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae have been investigated, focusing on the summary of culture-based techniques and molecular methods. Methods: The present study is a review. in which the articles published during the years 1381 to 1401 were searched in the international authoritative databases Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Web of Science. Findings: To identify enterobacteria producing carbapenemase and broad-spectrum beta-lactamase, conventional culture methods, biochemical methods, mass spectrometry, molecular methods, next generation sequencing, micro Arrays, whole genome sequencing, hybridization-based system, starch iodine assay, immunochromatography, colorimetry, mass spectrometry, electrochemical assay and flow cytometry are used. Conclusion: (matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight) MALDI-TOF, next generation sequencing and whole genome sequencing are among the new and selected techniques for detection and identification. Enterobacters are producers of broad-spectrum carbapenemase and beta-lactamase.
