Notes	Almost no island has attracted the ambitious gaze of many conquerors throughout history, from the times before Christ until today, like Crete. Undoubtedly, this quality comes from its geographical situation in the Mediterranean, which lies between the three ancient land parts of the world: Europe, Asia and Africa. This island, called (Krete) or (Kriti) in Greek (Krete) or (Kriti) by the Arabs (Ekritiş) or (İkritiş) by the Italians (Candia) and Turkish (Cirit) is the largest and the lock of the eastern Mediterranean and especially the Sea of Archaeans, and is located between 25°, 20, and 23°, 31 degrees of longitude and latitudes of 34, 55, and 35°, 41". and was 8618 km in size.
