Notes	Famous German scholar J. Marquart, in his important work on Komans, published together with W. Bang in 1914, based on al-Birani and `Awfi, claimed that the Kay tribe or tribe mentioned in them was not a tribe other than the Kayı tribe to which the Ottomans belonged, and that it was necessary to consider the Kayı tribe as a Turkified Mongolian tribe, since the Kay people were essentially Mongols, not Turks. and in his addendum on the origins of the Ottomans, he compared the narrations in the old Ottoman chronicles about the "migration of the Kayı people to Anatolia", in a more or less critical way, with the information of some other Islamic sources, and added this important study about the Komans.
