This year, the Turkish Historical Society took over another region that had not been examined in terms of archaeology. In our proposal to the Institution, we stated the importance of Elbistan and Afşin plains in terms of historical geography and settlement history, pointed out the abundance of earthly monuments and mounds, and explained that it was necessary to learn the archeology of the region, which was a great cultural center in the First and Middle Ages, and to shed light on its older ages.
