In our three-volume History of India - as it covers the several thousand years of history of a continent as large as Europe, excluding Russia, and almost always inhabited by a few hundred million people - we did not dwell on the discussions that took place in Delhi over the name of Sultan Iletmis, who was the ruler of a large part of Northern India between the Hijri years 607-633 (1210/11-1235/36), but only included the following anecdote as a result of our own investigations.
