Notes Dr. I. Kılıç Kökten brought the two fossil teeth he found during the excavation in Karain Cave near Antalya to me for examination. Dr. Kökten gives the following information in the note he gave me about these fossils: "This summer (1949), in the lower large cavity of the Karain cave (Antalya-Yağca village), which I have been excavating on behalf of the Turkish Historical Society for three years, there was a root with a broken upper part at the Musterian I level, and a small chamber of the upper large cavity of the same cave, which I named D: containing fossil animal bones and tools of the Musterian II and Aurignacian types. I found a molar tooth at the upper level of the thick, cemented midden layer.
