Notes The Third Turkish History Congress was held in the large building of Ankara Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, which was built in a magnificent style, from the 15th Term to the 20th Term. The organization and realization of this congress was in the hands of the Turkish Historical Society, just like the previous ones, that is, the congresses that took place in 1932 and 1937. The opening ceremony, honored by President İsmet İnönü, took place in the largest classroom of the Faculty. The classroom was packed to the last row. All personalities who were interested in the history or archeology research of the country due to their profession or passion, including university professors, officials of city and provincial museums, and members of foreign institutes, accepted the invitation. The patronage of the congress was taken by the Minister of Education, Hasan-Ali Yücel, upon the proposal of the President of the Turkish Historical Society, Professor Şemseddin Günaltay.
