Modern education entered this country with Galatasaray High School. This institution introduced the concept of high school, which represents modern secondary education, to Türkiye. This school was one of the most important factors in the renewal of Turkish social life and the introduction and spread of Western culture and sorrow mentality in the country. To understand this truth, it is enough to look at the list of Galatasaray graduates who are famous in Türkiye's literature, science, education, administration, art and commerce. In this respect, September 1, 1868, which coincided with the opening of Galatasaray, can be considered a turning point in the history of Türkiye.
