Notes	In 1913, the British Museum Expedition under the direction of C. Leonard Woolley, while examining a cemetery from the late Hittite period just outside the Kargemiş city walls, also conducted research near the nearby Yunus (=Eminik) village and began to excavate an area called 20X 12 m2eb', as some remarkable pottery sherds were found on the slope of the high land where the village was founded. In this place, which was initially thought to be a cemetery, the remains of mud brick buildings were soon found just below the ground surface, and when the excavation was further deepened, it was seen that these prehistoric pottery kilns and the potsherds fired in them were scattered all over the area.
