Notes	The ethnic origins of many tribes mentioned in Reşid-ed-Din's "Jami'-üt-Tevarih" are one of the most debated issues of history and ethnology. In particular, the issue of the origin of the Nayman, Kereyit and Ongut tribes still preoccupies historians and ethnologists. As is known, when talking about the tribes of the Mongol period, Rashid-ed-Din said, "...today they are known as Mongols." The tribes are Celayır, Tatar, Oirat, Merkit and others; "The tribes that are similar to the Mongols and have their own sultans are Kereyit, Nayman, Ongut and others," he says.
