Notes	We are deeply saddened by the loss of Fevzi Kurdoğlu, who was known for his expertise in Turkish maritime history and enlightened us with his valuable works. Just as he worked modestly and quietly, so did his illness and death, and unfortunately, our wise life was not aware of the death of this marine historian, who left us many valuable artifacts. By showing the works of this very hard-working, generous and self-sacrificing naval historian in brief translation, we are respecting his beloved memory.
