The Institute of Archeology, which England decided to establish in Türkiye, was opened on 15/1/1948 in Ankara, next to the Ottoman Bank and in a building belonging to this institution, by the Minister of National Education B. Reşat Şemsettin Sirer and the British Ambassador Sir David Kelly, and on this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Necmettin Sadak and the Director of the Institute Prof. J. Garstang also made speeches as follows.
