Notes In December 1946, it was written in various daily newspapers that a treasure had been found by famous researchers in the Lerdüge village of Havza. A report on this matter came to the Ministry of National Education from the Havza National Education Office on 10.12.1946. According to the information obtained from the newspapers and this report, it was understood that the treasure seekers wanted to achieve their goal by destroying a tumulus, which means a historical grave monument. Samsun's vigilant provincial authority intervened in this matter in time to stop the destruction and asked an expert committee to be sent from Ankara to investigate. A delegation consisting of Hamit Koşay, General Director of Antiquities and Museums of the Ministry of National Education, and Mahmut Akok, Archaeologist of the Turkish Historical Society, was considered to carry out on-site research and set out on 12.12.1946, although the season was not suitable.
