Notes	Seljuk caravanserais are a very remarkable subject that needs to be studied in order to understand the economic situation of Türkiye in the 13th century, the commercial activities that took place in the country and the policy that the state followed in this regard. Like almost every issue and subject of Seljuk history, these, too, have not yet been subjected to any serious historical examination, with the exception of some limited descriptive writings about their inscriptions and architectural significance, the most important of which will be mentioned here when appropriate. These buildings, which are like a castle when viewed from afar, but like a mansion on a road, have an organization that will meet all the needs of the caravan convoys, and have a value that cannot be matched in other parts of the Islamic world, neither in terms of quantity nor quality.
