Notes	Pazarlı finds have an important place among the excavations carried out by the Turkish Historical Society. Because it was not known before that the terracotta embossed plates unearthed here were found this far into Anatolia. In fact, such artifacts were found in Gordio 2. However, Pazarlı is further inland and further away from the western Anatolian cities where these terracotta artifacts are abundant. Although the Akalan locality, which produced such plates, is far from western Anatolia, it is very close to the Amisos locality, which was the colony of the city of Phokaia. In this respect, Akalan took the custom of decorating buildings with terracotta embossed plaques from there (as will be stated later).
