Notes The first issue of Muhit magazine was published on November 1, 1928. The subtitle includes the phrase "Illustrated Monthly Family Magazine". At a time when the use of new Turkish letters had just begun, the first issue of the magazine was published entirely in Arabic letters, the second issue was published using a mixture of Arabic and Latin letters, and from the third issue onwards, only Latin letters were used. The magazine, which was published when the Alphabet Revolution was just beginning to be implemented, aimed to facilitate the adoption of new letters by Turkish society. Its founder and responsible person is Ahmet Cevat Emre. Muhit was printed monthly at the Selamet Printing House in Istanbul. The price of the magazine is 50 kuruş. Annual subscription fee is 6 Lira in the country and 4 Dollars abroad. In each copy, a literary supplement, a dress pattern or a color chart other than the text are given as a gift. In addition, books are given as gifts to annual and semi-annual subscribers to the magazine. The magazine content, which consists of 80 pages, includes main titles such as Country News, Fine Arts, Literary Criticism, History, Famous Men, Men of the Day, Economic Accounting, Stories, Folklore, Geography in Pictures, Social Life Issues, Poetry, Folk Poems, About Science, About Women and Femininity, Children, Health, Travel, Cinema, Theatre, Sports, Music and Architecture.
